Some
Reviews of the book
- Reviewer: rushing7 from

- I really liked this book
becasue it was not too technical. They stated in the
beginning that if you're looking for info on how to build
a rotary or want a successor to "How To Modify Your
RX-7", then this book isn't for you. On the
contrary, I found this book and it's authors to be
extremely well written and entertaining. The co-author is
very active within the rotary community and is very
knowledgeable and all-around a great guy. I feel he
contributed to the book in a positive way. This book is
perfect for the RX-7 owner who loves to tinker with his
car when he's not autocrossing or whatever. There are a
ton of great pointers throughout the book, from wheels
and tires to optimal suspension settings for various
racing venues. They even have a cool website that gives
you up-to-date material as well as stuff that was deleted
from the original version (more technical). I give this
book a perfect rating for all these reasons. I am not a
real technical person and found the book very easy to
read and follow.

- This book was such a
refreshing change over the typical dry and boring auto
performance book. This guy has a sense of humor, and
besides being informative, the book is fun to read. I
have an 89 Turbo II, and was impressed that someone
finally addressed issues about MY car (seems like most of
the magazines concentrate on the 93-95 RX-7). I learned a
lot, and highly recommend this book. I visited the
author's home page and bought this book as well as a
model of my car! (been looking for one of those for
years).

- This is one of the best
performance handbooks I've ever read, bar none. The book
covers the history of the car, and virtualy every kind of
performance upgrade is covered in easily understood
terms. It also tells which products work best for
different applications, and gives great advice on racing
the car in SCCA events. This is the RX-7 bible. Buy it
now and enjoy.

- I have just finished this
book, plus the three extra omitted chapters, and I felt
compelled to write this review. As a weekend mechanic, I
appreciate how well- written the book is. So far I have
learned so much more useful information in the past few
days than I have in the past 7-8 months since I bought my
1993 RX-7. I particularly like the straight forward
approach that you don;t always get with the various
magazines. I already started doing a few things to the
car that I didn't know needed to be upgraded so that I
may avoid potential problems (the 3rd generation RX-7 is
a great car, but it can be unreliable). I would recommend
this book to all rx-7 owners

- This is an easy to read
and informative book, unlike many of the performance
books I have read over the years (much better than the
first RX-7 Performance Book of the 1980's). It definitely
helped me to look forward and think about what I want to
do with my car before I go out and max out my credit card
on parts that will be more detrimental than helpful in
the long run. Now I feel I can better figure out where I
want to go with my car (form vs. function), and set up a
feasible budget to coincide w/ the direction I choose.
The author is not only knowledgeable, but he is a good
writer.

- Just received my copy of
the book, and it was well worth the wait. I own a 1993 R1
and was happy to see that a big portion of the book
relates to my car! It includes info on 3-rotor
transplants, cooling tips, fuel injection tricks, and
lots more. It is the most informative book on RX-7s that
I have read and I highly recommend it

- Reviewer: Jason B. from

- My girlfriend recently
bought me a copy of this handbook. My first car was a 1G
RX-7. Since I am coming across some money I have plans to
buy a 3G (my dream car) within the next 6 mos. Ancas'
handbook has been the single most informative and
valuable reference in my decision making process. I
emailed the author [...] and he gave me access to to the
"3 Mystery Chapters" that were cut out of the
book even though I bought it here at Amazon.com. I highly
recommend this book to anyone who owns (or wants to own)
an RX-7
